Low FODMAP Spiced Hot Chocolate

If you ever feel like a chocolate treat, this Low FODMAP spiced hot chocolate with orange zest and warming spices like cinnamon and nutmeg can be the answer!

Ingredients
  

  • 8 g cacao powder
  • 250 ml lactose free milk
  • 1/2 tsp.  Orange zest
  • 2 tsp.  Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp.  Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp.  Ground nutmeg or just a pinch if using a freshly grated one
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • Firstly, heat up the milk in a small pot.
  • Grate some of the orange zest, about half a teaspoon. Do not add more, because the hot chocolate will be tasting only of the orange!
  • Measure the rest of dry ingredients ( cacao powder, sugar, cinnamon, salt and nutmeinto a jug. Add a 1/4 of the heated milk and mix it well, using a tablespoon, making sure that all of the cacao powder is dissolved. Only then add the rest of the hot milk and mix it well again.
  • Pour the orangey and spicy hot chocolate into a mug and enjoy!
